Meet the heroes on the mission to revolutionize HVAC/R documentation.
The name Ironclad represents the strength, resilience, and unwavering integrity Rodney brings to FMHero. Like the historic vessels that changed the course of naval warfare, the goal was to create something that could stand strong under pressure and protect what matters most—our clients, our team, and our vision. With a steadfast backbone and fortified mindset, Ironclad reflects the commitment to consistency and leadership that powers everything we do.
After more than 13 years in the HVAC/R industry—starting as “the IT guy” at a small recovery startup—Rodney saw firsthand how compliance data was often fragmented or inaccurate. Traditional systems left gaps between technicians, contractors, and reclaimers, leading to errors and inefficiencies. That experience sparked the idea for FMHero: a platform designed to capture and preserve critical refrigerant data from the field to the back office, creating a true Single Source of Truth.
FMHero was built by people who’ve done the work—climbing ladders, answering phones, writing code, and navigating regulations. Rodney’s mission is simple: equip HVAC/R professionals with the tools to stay compliant, save time, and protect the integrity of their records. With Ironclad resolve, he’s driving the industry forward—one accurate record at a time.
ONWARD & UPWARD
Adam is known as Gabar—a Hebrew word meaning “to prevail” and “to be mighty.” Names define individuals, reflecting their character and the legacy they build through their actions. Like the heroes of old, he envisioned himself as a battle-hardened warrior from the days of David and Goliath—resilient in the face of adversity.
His journey in the HVAC/R industry began at age 14 in his uncle’s refrigerant reclamation company in West Michigan. Over the years, he advanced from recovery technician to regional manager, and in 2002, alongside Les Rhynard and his uncle Rich Dykstra, he co-founded Rapid Recovery— which, under their leadership, became the largest refrigerant recovery company in the world. This experience transformed him from working behind the scenes to leading dynamic teams and taught him the true meaning of perseverance.
After selling Rapid Recovery in 2016 and traveling the globe to take the business global, he identified a persistent worldwide challenge: faulty or missing compliance documentation. Out of this need, FMHero was born—a Refrigerant Management Platform that serves as a Single Source of Truth, offering robust protection against regulatory issues.
He remains deeply grateful for the teams who have fought beside him through every challenge, and he continues to strive for excellence with humility and determination.
Les Rhynard, founder of FMHero and a pioneer in HVAC/R compliance, created the platform to solve a critical industry pain point—EPA-required recordkeeping. As a co-founder of Rapid Recovery in 2002, Les saw firsthand how challenging it was for technicians and contractors to stay compliant. FMHero provides a streamlined Refrigerant Management Platform (RMP), ensuring professionals can easily track refrigerant movements, avoid penalties, and operate with confidence. The name "Sanctum Redemptor" reflects this mission—offering a protected space for compliance and redemption from past documentation gaps.
With decades of industry experience, Les has witnessed how technology is transforming HVAC/R, from diagnostics and field tools to compliance tracking. FMHero is built to evolve alongside these advancements, ensuring users stay ahead of regulations while improving efficiency and profitability. Committed to the industry's success, Les stays engaged through trade events, webinars, and direct conversations with professionals to keep FMHero at the forefront of innovation. The goal? To give every FMHero user peace of mind—never fearing an EPA audit again.
Meet Kirsten, our powerhouse internal operations hero at FMHero! True to her name—Fautor, meaning “supporter” in Latin—she’s dedicated to helping HVAC/R professionals work smarter, not harder.
Kirsten started her career at Rapid Recovery as a customer support specialist, managing work orders and bookkeeping for franchises. She then transitioned to technician-network support, overseeing inventory, logistics, and compliance for refrigerant reclaim documentation. With deep industry experience, joining FMHero was a natural next step.
She knows firsthand the inefficiencies that plague the HVAC/R ecosystem—and she’s here to change that. From reducing errors to streamlining processes, Kirsten is on a mission to make office staff’s jobs easier and more efficient. One of FMHero’s most powerful tools? Its robust refrigerant management platform—a game-changer that would have saved her countless hours in her previous role.
Now, Kirsten spends her days strategizing how to help technicians ditch pen and paper, improve inventory tracking, and eliminate the daily headaches that come with work orders. Her goal? To simplify life at every touchpoint in the HVAC/R industry—so teams can focus on the work that truly matters.
Known by the longtime moniker Xtremefaith, a name born in the X-treme era of the '90s and rooted in a mindset of all-in commitment, he brings that same passion and intensity to everything he does—especially his work at FMHero. Inspired by Colossians 3:23, he believes in doing everything with your whole heart and leaving it all on the field.
He began his journey in the HVAC/R industry in 2014 with Rapid Recovery, where he led the charge in application development and business integrations. But even then, his vision extended far beyond the task at hand. With a natural ability to connect the dots between process, purpose, and impact, his path led him to FMHero—where that mindset is a perfect match.
As FMHero’s Solutions Architect and Lead Product Manager, he ensures that every feature, every update, and every piece of the roadmap makes sense. Because if the platform doesn’t make sense to its users, it doesn’t get used—and if it doesn’t get used, FMHero can’t accomplish its vision. His job is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world usability for the HVAC/R heroes in the field.
When asked what advice he’d give to industry professionals, he says:
