Release Notes

1.22.0

January 14, 2026

Your equipment just got smarter—and so did your documentation.

New Features

Equipment Systems & Components Phase 2

Complex refrigeration systems deserve complex tracking. This release unlocks the full power of equipment hierarchies:

Sub-system hierarchy support — Equipment assets can now exist in nested parent-child relationships. A component can also be a parent to its own sub-components, reflecting how real-world systems actually work.

System navigation modal — When viewing an asset that’s both a component AND a parent, you’ll see options to navigate up to parent systems or down into child components. No more guessing where you are in the hierarchy.

Smart unlinking with circuit creation — Unlinking a component that has its own children? FMHero prompts you to create a new circuit for the newly independent sub-system, capturing refrigerant charge and composition so nothing gets lost.

Multi-root system handling — Assets can belong to multiple parent systems simultaneously, with proper handling when unlinking from one while remaining connected to others.

Eligibility validation — Clear feedback when linking isn’t allowed, with specific reasons why an asset can’t serve as a parent or component in a given context.

Resource Notes

Add markdown-formatted notes to assets, facilities, and FSOs. Document quirks, history, access instructions—whatever helps the next hero on the job.

View-Only Equipment Screen

Need to reference equipment details but don’t have edit permissions? Now you can view the full equipment screen with fields displayed (but disabled). See everything, touch nothing.

Improvements

Enhanced Asset Display Identification

Improved how assets are identified and displayed throughout the app—cleaner, clearer, and more consistent.

Updated Workspace Subscription Labels

Subscription tier labels now reflect the current product naming conventions.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed leak/loss bar color when value is exceeded—red means red again
  • Displaying all manufacturers in lookup (no more missing options)
  • Added max upload size display on documents so you know before you try
  • Fixed missing nameplate placement issue

These system hierarchy capabilities lay the groundwork for how FMHero handles the most complex commercial and industrial equipment configurations. More power to your documentation shield.
